Young Lady
A poetry mini-zine called Young Lady. It ended up being about my twenties, and the poems sit alongside photographs taken between 2013 and 2017. It’s a portrait of someone who doesn’t really exist anymore.
Film
Alice in Motion (2016)
I wrote and directed this short about a young woman attending a ballet class. Things don’t quite go according to plan.
I couldn’t have asked for a better cast or crew for my first work as a director. Harry Ferguson’s short but lovely score made the film a dream to edit, and Hayley Griffiths-Hall and Carmen Gabriele are brilliant actors. The title is stolen borrowed from Susan Sontag.
Any Time, Any Place (2014)
Don Crumble is a travel agent selling trips through time. Cynical Eve won’t part with her money easily.
I wrote and produced this sci-fi comedy and won a spot as a finalist in the Funny Women Shorts Awards 2018.
& Other Film Work
The first in a series of films about Murray Winterbottom – a Ghostbuster who works for Stockport Council ridding Victorian houses of chimney sweeps who still haven’t realised that they’re dead. Later films in the series introduced Murray’s assistant Guillermo. I edited this first short and helped develop the idea and cowrite a 30-minute pilot script along with my friends in Things To Do With Your Hands & Mouth.
I co-wrote this short crime drama with Marcus O’Toole for the London 48 Hour Film Challenge. It was directed by the amazing Kasra Karimi and Martin Hall and follows two criminals on a very special mission for the mysterious Henry Flemming.
